The Story Before Christmas Morning

Christmas Didn't Begin at the Manger

Long before the shepherds gathered and the star shone over Bethlehem, Mary and Joseph first had a road to walk. This display captures that quiet moment before arrival — a journey carried forward by faith.

Sometimes the part of the story worth remembering most is the road taken before the destination.

A Story You Can See

Let the Road to Bethlehem Unfold in Your Home

Because Joseph and Mary are separate freestanding pieces, the scene doesn't have to stay frozen in one position. Place them side by side, set Joseph a few steps ahead, or let the distance between them tell the story of their journey.

01
Joseph Stands Separately Position him ahead of Mary as though he is guiding the way toward Bethlehem.
02
Mary Travels With the Donkey The second freestanding piece creates a graceful, recognizable scene from the Christmas story.
03
Create Your Own Arrangement Keep the two figures close together or spread the journey across a longer mantel or shelf.
Turn It Into a Family Tradition

Let Their Journey Continue Through Advent

Instead of placing the figures beside your Nativity on day one, let Mary and Joseph slowly make their way toward Bethlehem as Christmas approaches.

1

Begin the Journey

At the beginning of Advent, place Mary and Joseph away from your Nativity scene.

2

Move Them Closer

Each day, move the figures a little farther along the road toward Bethlehem.

3

Arrive at Christmas

On Christmas, complete their journey beside your family's Nativity display.

Designed to Tell the Story

Two Freestanding Pieces Give the Scene More Meaning

Rather than locking Mary and Joseph into one fixed arrangement, the separate figures allow you to visually create the road ahead of them.

✦ Joseph forms one independent freestanding piece.
✦ Mary and the donkey form the second freestanding piece.
✦ Adjust the distance between them to suit a short shelf, long mantel or Advent journey.
✦ The warm neutral finish pairs easily with existing Nativity and Christmas décor.

Noticeable Without Taking Over the Room

The figures have enough presence to become part of your Christmas display while remaining easy to place on the everyday surfaces already in your home.

⌂
Fits Everyday Spaces Ideal for mantels, sideboards, piano tops, shelves, windowsills and entry tables.
↔
Arrange Them Your Way Keep the pair compact or create more distance between Mary and Joseph to emphasize the journey.
✦
Easy to Judge Before Buying The scale reference helps you picture how the figures will fit into your own Christmas display.
